Routine Chat is an iOS app for building and running daily routines. This policy describes what the app handles and where it goes. It describes the app as it actually behaves today, not as it might behave later.
Your routines, journal entries, to-do lists, and the notes the app keeps about what you are working toward are stored on your device. Routine Chat has no user accounts today and does not upload this data to any server of ours.
When you type or speak to the assistant, that text is sent to an AI provider so it can be interpreted. Depending on which model you have selected in the app's settings, that provider is either OpenAI or, via OpenRouter, a third-party model. Voice input is transcribed by OpenAI. The app also sends context alongside your message so the assistant can be useful: your routine names, recent completions, and — where relevant — recent journal themes and open to-do items.
This means journal text you write in the app may be sent to an AI provider as context. If that is not something you want, do not put it in the journal. We do not use any of this to train models, and we do not retain it beyond answering the request; the providers' own retention policies are theirs, and you should read them if this matters to you.
Today the app reads your device calendar through Apple's EventKit framework, entirely on your device. This never passes through our servers.
A future version will optionally connect Google Calendar directly, using
two read-only scopes: calendar.freebusy and
calendar.events.readonly. Routine Chat will never write to,
modify, or delete anything in your calendar. Event titles are read only to
match them against routines you have created, so the right routine can be
suggested at the right time.
Routine Chat's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: this data is used solely to provide the routine-matching feature described above, is never used or transferred for advertising or any purpose unrelated to that feature, is never sold, and is never read by a human except where you have given affirmative consent, where required by law, or for security purposes such as investigating abuse.
Narration clips you record, and photos you attach to a step, are stored only on your device. Voice recordings are sent for transcription and are not kept afterwards.
None. Routine Chat does not collect analytics, does not use tracking SDKs, and has no advertising.
Deleting the app removes everything, because everything is on the device. There is no server-side copy for us to delete.
If the app starts doing something this page does not describe — accounts, sync, uploads — this page will say so before that ships.
